Landscape Plan

The objective was to design a residential garden that satisfies the client’s need to produce her own fruits and vegetables, provide shade, entertainment space, privacy & meditative space.

Because of the property’s 3 sides, the concept, Healing, Health, Peace is what drives this design.  Healing: many medicinal plants; Health: home grown, organic foods; Peace: Meditative walks through the existing labyrinth surrounded by calming plants.

Many pollinator plants have been selected to attract bees and hummingbirds to aid in pollination of the vegetables.

This client is excited about gardening sustainably and repurposing as many materials as possible so path material consists of crushed shell obtained from local restaurants.

Although not part of the design, the front walk needed to be addressed as concrete was damaged due to HVAC drainage from the roof.    Water from the roof drain would enter through a decorative iron grate into a French drain and directed to the plants in the front yard. The damaged concrete etched away and filled with recycled amber colored glass.
